The book, “Sharh Risalah Al-Ubudiyah” is originally authored by one of the great Scholar, Imam Ibn Taymiyyah and explained by Shaykh Salih Al-Fawzan. The explainer Shaykh Salih Al-Fawzan says “I have explained the treatise Al-Ubudiyah authored by Shaykh Al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, (May Allah have mercy upon him). In it, he clarifies the meaning of worship and explains that worship is built upon two fundamental principles, without which worship is not accepted by Allah. They are sincerity to Allah and following the messenger of Allah ﷺ.

The first fundamental principle necessitates that everything other than Allah is abandoned in worship. The second fundamental principle necessitates the abandonment of newly invented affairs in the religion. Those who worship at the graves have opposed the first fundamental principle, and those who oppose the second fundamental principle are the soofiyah and other than them from the deviated sects. It is Ahl-ul-sunnah wal-jama’ah, who establish these two fundamental principles, those whom Allāh has guided to the truth with his permission in those matters wherein which the people differ.
