The book, “Iqtida As-Sirat Al-Mustaqeem” is the famous book of Shaykh Al-Islam Imam Ibn Taymiyyah. Shaykh Al-Islam has explained in this book that opposing the infidels (Kuffar) is a fundamental rule of the Shari’ah, which has many branches. It is a comprehensive principle of its origins with numerous branches. However, some people were astonished and bemused by it and thus ruled it out due to its contrast with the customs upon which they were raised.

Shaykh Al-Islam, may Allah have mercy on him, stated that many people were plagued by this type of ignorance, and he wrote what he had witnessed at that time. He collected all the evidence and the words of scholars, and examined the narrations from many books regarding this issue.
